IIPM (THE INDIAN INSTITUTE OF PLANNING AND MANAGEMENT)
With its slogan 'Dare To Think Beyond the IIMs’ IIPM once again proved the cynics wrong when it topped the Business Barons ‘ India’s best B- Schools Survey, January 2005, in the ‘Industry Interface’ index. IIPM surpassed the performance of 5 of the IIMs and ranked 2nd (ahead of 5 of the IIMs).
The survey ranked IIPM as the fastest growing business school in the country. Based on the overall performance, the survey placed IIPM at ranked 8, ahead of the 2 IIMS while in terms of the course content it was ranked 3rd.
Speaking on the occasion, Arindam Chaudhuri, Dean- The Indian Institute of Planning and Management (IIPM) examined the factors determining the rankings. “The only indicator which involves value judgements is Industry Interface. It is ascertained primarily in terms of the revenue earned from consulting assignments carried out by an institute and its faculty. It is an evidence of how much the industry values your institute’s education. When your institute has been ranked best, it is difficult to accept the ranking less as the weight ages are given on the parameters of value judgements and also other aspects like infrastructure etc.”
